Start your day with a pick up from your Hotel in Kampala at 7:00am, We drive to Wamala King’s Tombs Ssekabaka Ssuna’s resting place located in Nansana, Wakiso Uganda. Kabaka Suuna II was King of Buganda, the largest of the traditional territories that now make up the nation of Uganda. During his reign in the middle of the 19th century, he became the first king to admit outside traders into Bugunda. He had 148 wives and sired 218 children, and when he died, he was the last king to have his jawbone (which was believed to contain his spirit) placed in a royal shrine staffed by his descendants. The Wamala King’s tombs, including the shrine of Kabaka Suuna II, are one of only two such tomb complexes remaining in Uganda. Wamala remains a very important site for traditional religious practices hosted by the royal family, a place where the Kabaka and his representatives frequently carry out important rituals allowing them to communicate with their ancestors. The descendants of the kings continue to provide occasional maintenance at the site

Later drive to Kasubi Tombs on Kasubi Hill in Kampala Uganda, This is the burial ground for the Kings of Buganda (Kabakas of Buganda) and it was recognized by UNESCO in December 2001 as the World heritage site of local and international importance in the entire region of sub-Saharan Africa. This is because it was built purely by plant materials and so far four (4) kings of Buganda have been buried at this site on the house called Muzibu Azaala Mpanga, it was constructed in a circular shape in 1882 and also other members of the Buganda royal family have been and are always buried here. Kasubi tombs comprise of 26 hectares of land and it is used for agricultural purpose by using traditional techniques by the royal family members. Today, Kasubi tomb is one of the interesting and top places to visit while on your Kampala city tour, you will explore the history and culture of the kings of Buganda Kingdom.

Later enjoy your Local Lunch at a Local Restaurant in Kampala town, Later proceed to the Kings Palace located along Lubiri Ring Road in Mengo Kampala Uganda driving through the King's Royal mile which connects two major seats of Buganda Kingdom like the palace of the Kabaka and his administrative seat. The mile became royal after Kabaka Frederick Muteesa II visited Scotland, toured the royal mile there and replicated the idea in Bulange mengo. On either side of the Royal Mile, are sculptures representing the 54 clans of Buganda. Each sculpture identifies a clan and its totem and has a tree beside it. There are a total of 54 trees known as Kabaka’ njagala trees. In the middle of the Royal mile is a roundabout made of a sculpture of a long drum known as “Engalabi”. The roundabout has 2 gates on either side and it is only the Kabaka that can go through. The Kings Palace was built in 1922 and is famous for its history, culture and architecture. With the presence of four gates of entry by royalty for different occasions, to the presence of a torture chamber, The Kabaka Palace is one of the top Cultural attractions on your visit to Kampala.This palace is the former home of the king of Buganda, though it has remained empty since 1966 when Prime Minister Milton Obote ordered a dramatic attack to oust Kabaka Mutesa II, then president of Uganda. Led by the forces of Idi Amin, soldiers stormed the palace and, after several days of fighting, Mutesa was forced into exile. Passby the Kabaka's Lake which is the largest Man-made lake in Uganda and its said to be Africa’s excavated lake. During the construction of the lake, 52tribes of Buganda cooperated and agreed to construct the Kabaka lake. During the Ssekabaka Mwanga’s regime between the 1885 and 1888 and this was a sign of respecting the kabaka’s orders

Bulange Mengo houses Buganda Kingdom’s administration and parliament. In the past, sessions used to be held under trees before they moved to the grass-thatched building. Construction for Bulange began in 1955 when Ssekabaka Mutesa returned from exile in Scotland with a drawing of how he wanted it to look. It was completed in 1958. It’s a good place to learn about the history and culture about Buganda.

It ws Dug between 1886 and 1888. it was quarried on the orders of Buganda’s king, Ssekabaka Mwanga II. Its main objective was to link Mengo the kingdom’s main palace to the neighbouring L. Victoria to serve as an escape route for the king in case of an attack on the palace. Its second purpose was to offer Mwanga an easy sailing experience over to his father’s (Muteesa I) lakeside palace in Munyonyo, as well as to other neighboring counties.
